Does a medical office really need electrical safety testing?

If the office is surveyed by AHCA, Joint Commission or AAAHC, yes — NFPA 99 leakage-current and ground testing on powered patient-care equipment is a standard line item, and an untested exam table is one of the easiest findings to write.

We only have a CLIA-waived lab. What needs calibration?

Typically the centrifuge, the refrigerator thermometer and any timers — plus manufacturer-required checks on waived analyzers. Waived does not mean undocumented; surveyors still ask for the records.

What are the VFC refrigerator requirements?

A digital data logger with a buffered probe and a current calibration certificate, twice-daily temperature checks or continuous monitoring, an alarm, and records retained for three years. See our VFC guide.
