PCR thermocycler calibration & preventive maintenance

Reliable amplification depends on accurate block temperature and uniformity. BMCA calibrates and maintains PCR and qPCR thermocyclers so your molecular results stay reproducible.

// Thermocycler service

Even, accurate blocks — reproducible runs

Using NIST-traceable temperature probes, BMCA verifies block accuracy and well-to-well uniformity, performs preventive maintenance, and documents the result — protecting the molecular work your lab depends on.

Why it matters

Molecular results are only as trustworthy as the thermal cycling behind them. Calibrated, maintained instruments protect both your data and your accreditation.

Service includes

  • Block temperature accuracy at set points
  • Well-to-well uniformity mapping
  • Ramp/function verification as applicable
  • Preventive maintenance & cleaning
  • NIST-traceable certificate
  • Dated label & service record

// Frequently asked

PCR thermocycler calibration & preventive maintenance — common questions

Why calibrate a PCR thermocycler?
Amplification, melting, and enzyme kinetics are temperature-sensitive. A block that is off-target or non-uniform across wells causes failed or inconsistent reactions. Calibration verifies the block hits and holds the right temperatures evenly.
What does thermocycler calibration measure?
Block temperature accuracy at set points, well-to-well uniformity, and (where applicable) ramp behavior — measured with NIST-traceable probes and documented on a certificate.
Do you also perform preventive maintenance?
Yes. PM includes inspection, cleaning, function checks, and verification so the instrument runs reliably between calibrations — reducing surprise failures mid-run.
How often should thermocyclers be calibrated?
Annual calibration is common, with PM on a complementary schedule. Heavily used or clinical-grade instruments may warrant more frequent verification.
Which instruments do you support?
Conventional and real-time (qPCR) thermocyclers across common molecular and research platforms.
