Biosafety cabinet & clean bench certification — common questions

Who performs the certification?
BMCA manages, schedules and documents the service. The field test is performed by Medrep Technologies, our preferred subcontracted certification partner — a Florida specialist certifying cabinets, hoods and clean rooms since 1984 and authorized by the leading cabinet manufacturers. Their credentials appear on every report.
Does a failed cabinet get fixed on the same visit?
Where possible, yes. Airflow adjustments and minor repairs are done in place and the cabinet is re-tested. Our partner stocks HEPA filters, motors, UV lamps and speed controls. Filter replacement requires decontamination first, scheduled as a separate visit.
What does the report include?
Measured downflow and inflow velocities against set points, HEPA leak results, smoke pattern result, alarm and electrical checks, certifier credentials, and next-due date. A dated label goes on the cabinet; the report goes to your client portal.
Can cabinets, fume hoods and calibrations be done on one visit?
Yes. We schedule them together to minimize disruption — that is the point of one accountable vendor.
Do you handle decontamination and removal?
Yes. See decontamination & removal for gaseous decontamination before filter changes, moves and disposal.
