When to request a service evaluation
Inconsistent advance, loose specimen clamping, blade-holder movement, unusual resistance or persistent section-quality problems may warrant an equipment assessment. Tissue preparation, blade condition and technique can also affect sectioning. Describe when the problem occurs and include photographs where helpful.
Preventive maintenance and repair scope
A model-specific visit can include cleaning accessible mechanisms, checking specimen and blade holders, inspecting feed and advance operation, and lubrication or adjustment where appropriate. Worn parts, corrosion and damaged contact surfaces are recorded so the laboratory can decide on corrective work.
What to send and what to retain
Provide the model, serial number, facility location, reported fault and available service window. Retain the completed service report with the instrument record, including work performed, findings and any outstanding recommendations. Parts and additional repairs are confirmed after evaluation.
