Vacuum, pressure and processing faults
Send the error message, stage of the cycle, observed vacuum or pressure behavior and any leak or temperature concern. If specimens are in the instrument, follow your laboratory’s contingency procedures and the manufacturer’s instructions. Call to discuss urgent service; response timing is confirmed for the location and fault.
Maintenance based on the instrument
The agreed scope may include inspection of seals, diaphragms, tubing and valves; checks of accessible vacuum and pressure components; temperature verification; and functional testing appropriate to the model. Service kits and replacement parts are identified and quoted for the specific unit.
Document findings and next steps
The service report identifies work performed, findings, replaced parts and verification completed. Components that need future attention should remain visible in the equipment record, even when an immediate replacement is not part of the approved work.
Coordinate downtime across the laboratory
Include your processing schedule, instrument count and backup arrangements when planning PM. Processor maintenance can be coordinated with microtomes, embedding centers, stainers and coverslippers under a defined service agreement.
